it's important only if it says where (in which routine)  the error actually
occurs, otherwise it is useless.

One of the many problems with Mac is that some optimized BLAS transform
zdotc from a function to a subroutine, or something like that. Try to
recompile with "DFLAGS= ...  -Dzdotc=zdotc_wrapper"
