Dear Fredric, I was also getting the negative phonon frequencies at gamma pt for beta tin structure but then I found that I was using very coarse mesh for k pts for BZ integrations. When I increased the mesh size, the negative frequencies disappeared. You could try increasing the k pt mesh size. Pushpa --
