Hard to say: configure is generated from configure.ac and by files in 
the m4/ subdirectory. You should look there, then use "autoconf" to 
update configure

One should look into file config.log for pointers on what is going 
wrong. Anyway: if one installs the hpc_sdk "as is", and there are no 
environment variables that mislead configure, it should work

It is, but mailing lists are less and less reliable: messages go to the
