Hi Nicola,

I understand all motivations behind your points and I agree, a single package would simplify a lot of things including creating the release and consistency in versions numbers and testing and deploy on machines where internet is not easily accessible and so on.

However, putting everything in a single package is going to create a big tar.gz (around 50 MByte, my best guess).

I think we can aggregate all "compute" packages in one archive if we separate the test-suite, the examples, the pseudo-potentials and (maybe) the documentation. A package that has only the source code should not be bigger than 15~16 MByte (I can verify this)

Just my opinion ...
