[QE-users] discrepancy between penalty function and starting_magnetization in constrained magnetism calculations

Hi All,

I read in this thread https://lists.quantum-espresso.org/pipermail/users/2014-July/030063.html that when setting the starting_magnetization for constrained magnetization calculations the value is interpreted as the initial magnetization/charge but that for the penalty function it is interpreted as the total magnetization. I suspect this is causing my calculation to converge very slowly (not converged within 100 steps). Is there any way to specify that I want the starting_magnetization interpreted as the total magnetization rather than per charge? Thanks in advance.
