it's impossible to get this error message:

from this input:

ATOMIC_POSITIONS
  Cd1 0.00 0.00 0.00
  Cd1 0.50 0.50 0.50
  Cd1 1.00 1.00 1.00
  S1  0.25 0.25 0.25
  S1  0.75 0.75 0.75
  S1  1.25 1.25 1.25

Hence, I guess your mistake is that you're not providing pw.x the input 
you want, but another file.
