Dear QE'ers,


this is to announce the "/*International workshop on computational
physics and materials science*/" that will be held at EPFL (Lausanne)
on *Jan 9-11 2014* (from 9am on Jan 9 to 1pm on Jan 11).

This workshop is part of the long-running series of "Total Energy"
conferences, that are held every even year at ICTP in Trieste (the
"maxi"), and every odd year elsewhere in the world (the "mini").

We have been fortunate to have a very exciting line-up of speakers (see

workshop, you need to apply through the CECAM website

Selection of admitted participants (largely on a first come, first
served basis) is ongoing; those selected become listed on the website,
and those selected by Dec 13 will also be invited to submit a poster
(the poster session will be held on the evening of Jan 9, together with
the traditional wine/buffet for all). There is no charge to attend the
workshop, but participants that have been selected need to make their
own hotel bookings; the Starling Hotel at EPFL offers a discounted rate
of 160 CHF/night, inclusive of breakfast, that can be obtained by
referring to the 'Total Energy' workshop.
