packages do not contain some text files that are needed
in order to link MKL libraries (a glitch in the packaging script:
they are present in the original version). Fix (no warranty):
- download and unpack the attached "missing-mkl.tar.gz" file,
   containing the missing files; OR
- download and unpack the attached "newconf.tar.gz" file,
   containing the development version of "configure" (it
   doesn't need those files any longer) and some other
   modified install/ files.
Thanks to all people reporting problems with MKL and
to Baris and Martin who reported the solution.
