Dear Mychael,
this could be a problem: c++ compilers can compile c code, but they will  
"mangle" the name of functions, and this can cause the linking phase to  
fail. Furthermore, QE does not incldue any c++ file, you can safely ignore  
all c++ related configure options and variables.

Try setting "MPICC=mpicc" instead, best regards.
