if you plan to use the code in serial mode, it is: the "p" in
"ptoolkit" stands for "parallel". Routines in ptoolkit.f90
are used only in parallel execution.

Other compilers do not complain, but the syntax used in that part
of code is questionable, so it will be fixed sooner or later
