it might be possible but it requires some changes in the code and
in the way input variables are handled, i.e. you need to specify 
separate "scratch" and "output" directories. There is presently 
some confusion in I/O: which code writes which files in which 
directory, but fixing this requires some time and some care. It
will be done but not right now.
