Thank you Paolo for your suggestion. The "incriminated" routine in my case was: PH/dvqpsi_us_only.f90 I compiled only that routine with optimization level -O1, the rest with -O2. The phonon calculation resulted 20% faster than with a general compilation with -O1. Andrea
