easy maybe not...

the constraint section is far from satisfactory in its
present status. Some major restructuring is needed.

did you "make clean" and recompile everything? It looks
like the compiled module is not updated. The variable 
STARTING_NS_EIGENVALUE is there (it was added 
very recently)
