    the error clearly states what is wrong:<br>
    <br>

      fields only for insulators!"<br>
      <br>
      Thus, you need to change occupations='smearing' to
      occupations='fixed'. Well, and if your system is a metal, then you
      can't use the Berry phase approach.<br>
