Dear PW forum,

EPFL is looking to recruit 3 application experts in high-performance
computing, part of the Scientific IT and Application Support unit
(http://scitas.epfl.ch), recently created under the supervision of Prof.
Dr. Jan Hesthaven and Dr. Vittoria Rezzonico (executive director).

Two of these positions are permanent (after a 3-month trial period),
while one is a 2-year appointment. Salaries are decided by Human
Resources, but for a permanent position a typical starting salary
would be in the range 88K-119K CHF/year, according to experience.

One of this permanent positions is for a candidate with experience in
quantum simulations in materials science, with a special focus on
Quantum-ESPRESSO, part of an ongoing effort to support this research
area in collaboration with the Swiss Platform for Advanced Scientific
Computing. Strong synergies with the recently created National Center
for Computational Design and Discovery of Novel Materials (see
http://actu.epfl.ch/news/epfl-has-become-the-swiss-capital-for-research-on-/
) are also expected.

Details for this position can be found here:
http://emploi.epfl.ch/page-105997-en.html

Details for the other two positions (one permanent, one for 2 years) are
here: http://emploi.epfl.ch/page-105996-en.html

Applicants should submit a cover letter and a detailed CV in PDF format
only, including the names of at least 2 references, electronically to
vittoria.rezzonico at epfl.ch. Please use the position title and the
reference in the “subject” field.

For the position related to Quantum ESPRESSO, I'd be grateful if you
could CC me as well (nicola.marzari at epfl) in the application.

Application deadline is *15th April 2014* ; early applications are
encouraged.
