probably there was a problem running the makedeps.sh script.
please type ./makedeps.sh in the main espresso directory and
look for error messages.

hmmm. make sure that you update the intel compiler to the latest 
patchlevel. early 8.0 versions had several severe problems. but that
is unrelated to your problem. it may just give you wrong results 
(which is worse!).
