Yes, I agree with you, I did add the instruction to run a proper configure in this case, although the result is not exactly the same it is functionally equivalent. <div><br></div><div>However there is a case when this is impossible: if the compiler is more than one word (i.e. "mpfort -compiler ifort") there is no way (known to me) to have configure understand that. To be clear: adding the options in FFLAGS does not help. The only solution I have is to write a small wrapper script, but it's not 100% satisfactory.</div>

in my opinion it is preferrable to specify the way "./configure" should<br>
be run, rather than (or in addition to) providing a "make.sys" file.<br>
The former is less likely to change with new releases. Moreover<br>
"./configure" should be run anyway, since it initialises "c_defs.h"<br>
and "fft_defs.h" as well<br>
